The Libby Harricks Achievement Award
This award has been established by HMA Australia in memory of Libby Harricks, a friend and individual who through determination and spirit has achieved more than she ever thought possible, both for herself and for many others. It is awarded to someone in the community who has achieved success whilst living with hearing loss. Nominees for the award must be over 25 years of age, live in Australia, have a hearing loss, and communicate using spoken language (as at least one of their languages). The award is presented in recognition of both public and personal achievement through self-determination and hard work. It is through an understanding of the importance of self-help and a tireless assistance to many other people to help them achieve their own potential and ability that this individual is recognized and applauded.
